THE ROOMS
The 175 rooms are as tranquil as the location. A neutral palette with splashes of lilac or tonal oranges composes a harmonious scene set with low-slung furniture in natural textures like leather, dark oak and linen. We were blessed to spend our stay in a Junior Suite overlooking the golf course with the lake.
SERVICES AND FACILITES
The welcome is excellent: a friendly concierge greets guests – and expertly remembers names for goodbyes. As a self-branded city resort, the Dolder has an award-winning spa, golf course, tennis courts and ice rink in the winter, as well as a grand ballroom and meeting spaces. The hotel also has mountain bikes for complimentary hire.
SPA & FITNESS
Dolder Spa is a seductive space imbued with monastic quietness. The centrepoint is the elliptical 25-metre indoor pool, while outside there are sun loungers, a hot whirlpool with a view of the lake. Other spa facilities include gender-specific saunas and steam rooms, relaxation areas, a snow room and a well-equipped gym.
FOOD & DRINKS
The Saltz restaurant, designed by artist Rolf Sachs, exudes a unique atmosphere of relaxed familiarity combined with an air of understated opulence. It is a place in which guests can question their preconceptions and see things from a completely new perspective. Our Chef à la carte Julian Mai has created a menu of uncomplicated sophistication.
